To assist in the practical implementation of the lessons, this dedicated resources section provides additional language-free resources and templates to accompany the lessons. The following overview details which lesson plan they are designed to be used in conjunction with.


NAPO’s best signs for Safety


To support the two lesson plans in this series, the below shape signs templates are provided to assist with the main activity in which the basic rules of colours and shape of safety signs are discussed:


  • Triangles (Danger Signs) template – for use with Lesson One - Danger/Prohibition signs.
  • Red Circle (Prohibition Signs) template – for use with Lesson One - Danger/Prohibition signs
  • Blue Circle (Mandatory signs) template – for use with Lesson Two - Mandatory/Rescue signs
  • Green square (Rescue Signs) template – for use with Lesson Two - Mandatory/Rescue signs

Be Body Wise with Napo


The following resources could be used to illustrate risks to the skin and back in the Be Body Wise series:


  • Hand template – for use with Be Body Wise with Napo: Lesson One – Skin in the second main activity to explain how to protect against risks to skin
  • Risks to skin – sample risks to skin for use with Be Body Wise with Napo: Lesson One – Skin. Children could show these risks on the hand template and explain how to prevent against these risks  
  • Body shape template – for use with Be Body Wise with Napo: Lesson Two – Back. Children should place their warnings about risks to the back and advice on how to keep healthy on this template.

Napo’s Hazard Hunter


The Hazard Hunter Poster should be used as a visual aid to assist children in the task of identifying risks around the house in the main activities of the two Napo Hazard Hunter toolkits:


  • Napo’s Hazard House Hazard Spotting Poster – for use with Napo’s Hazard Hunter: Lesson One in identifying risks and hazards, and in Napo’s Hazard Hunter: Lesson Two in explaining how they should act to prevent against these risks
  • Napo’s Hazard House Hazard Spotting Poster (with solutions) – for use with Napo’s Hazard Hunter: Lesson One in identifying risks and hazards, and in Napo’s Hazard Hunter: Lesson Two in explaining how they should act to prevent against these risks.
